Maths, Years 4 to 7
Our maths curriculum follows the national curriculum topic by topic. Each topic has its own pack of worksheets, written by us, that builds from what students should already know up to their school year's level.
How a topic works
A quick review of what the topic builds on, in case there are gaps.
Teaching pages, each opening with a worked example.
Mixed practice.
A mastery check. 9 out of 10 means the topic is mastered and your student moves on.
What's covered
| Year | Examples of topics |
|---|---|
| Year 4 | Place value to 10,000, times tables to 12 × 12, short division, fractions and decimals, area and perimeter |
| Year 5 | Numbers to 1,000,000, long multiplication, fractions, decimals and percentages, angles, square and cube numbers |
| Year 6 | Long division, order of operations, fractions, decimals, percentages and ratio, multi-step problems |
| Year 7 | [Year 7 examples, once the Year 7 packs are finished] |
Times tables, properly learnt
If the assessment shows times tables are holding a student back, they get extra short packs alongside their year's work until the facts are secure.
Catching up and moving ahead
A student's plan can include topics from earlier years to fill gaps, and they move on as soon as each topic is mastered.
